Is the battery in place, the positive (+) sign facing up?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">Check the tubing- is it blocked with wax? Clean or replace the tubing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">Check the receiver opening and any vent openings and make sure they are not blocked with wax or other debris. If blocked, replace the wax guard.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">Check to see if the tubing is still connected properly and that it is not bent or twisted.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">Check to see if the microphone opening is not blocked. If it is, use the brush in your tool kit to clean away any debris.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"panel\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h3 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-0\" href=\"#collapse_1\" >If the hearing aid is distorted or intermittent\u2026<\/a><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"collapse_1\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">Check the tubing for moisture. If moisture is present, remove with an air blower.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">Check the tubing for cracks or holes. If you see any, call your audiologist.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">Replace the battery because it may be weak or defective.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\">If there are cords connecting to the hearing aid or other hearing assistive device, check for cracks and replace the cord if necessary.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"panel\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h3 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-0\" href=\"#collapse_2\" >If the hearing aid squeals or whistles (feedback)\u2026<\/a><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"collapse_2\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Check that the volume is not turned up too high.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Be sure the instrument or earmould\/ dome is seated snuggly in the ear.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Make sure the microphone is not covered by an object such as a hat, scarf, or collar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\">Have your audiologist or doctor look in your ear
